The Jewish Faculty and Staff Association (JFSA) is a group of UMBC faculty and staff who identify as Jewish or as allies to the Jewish community. We come together to build a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for Jewish life and advocacy on campus.
Our Mission
Our mission is to support and advocate for Jewish faculty, staff, and students at UMBC, while fostering community, connection, and cultural understanding.
Our Objectives
Advocate for the needs, visibility, and well-being of Jewish faculty, staff, and students within the broader UMBC community.
Build Community by offering social, cultural, and educational opportunities for Jewish-identifying and allied colleagues.
Promote Awareness around Jewish identity, culture, and issues, including antisemitism and Jewish inclusion, in academic and campus life.
Collaborate with university leadership and other affinity groups to advance equity, diversity, and a sense of belonging.
